The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources on Wednesday wanted to make sure injured Waseca police officer Arik Matson knew they were behind him and thinking of him, so they sent him a special video.

In the video, which the department posted to its Facebook page, the entire enforcement division of DNR said they're thinking of Matson and keeping him in their prayers. It was filmed during the DNR's annual awards and training conference.

"Each update we get on you brings us a lot of joy from our family to yours," one DNR officer said in the video.

"The bonds between law enforcement officers run deep, no matter the uniform they wear," the department wrote in its post.

Matson was shot in the head while responding to a report of a suspicious person in early January. He was moved out of intensive care and into a longer-term acute care facility in the past couple weeks as he continues his recovery.

Last week, his church also shared audio of Matson telling his wife "I love you. Happy anniversary."
