3 people, dog rescued in Olmsted County after falling in water

Three people and a dog were rescued Wednesday after entering the water on Lake Zumbro in Olmsted County.

The sheriff's office said authorities were called to the lake after a woman who was kayaking in an attempt to save her dog went into the water.

Two nearby ice fishermen saw the woman and attempted to rescue her but ended up going into the water as well.

The Pine Island Fire Department were able to save the three people and the dog.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office said the woman was taken to St. Mary's Hospital due to her exposure to the cold water. The two fishermen were evaluated on scene and did not seek further medical attention.

The dog is currently being cared for by the woman's neighbor, the sheriff's office said.
