A toddler who was found unresponsive earlier this month in a pond at a Ham Lake park has died.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the boy as 2-year-old Uriel Umzee Remi of Coon Rapids.

Family and friends pulled Remi from a small pond the evening of June 12 at Lions Park in Ham Lake, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. They attempted life-saving measures until emergency crews took over and airlifted him to Children’s Minnesota Hospital.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital on Sunday, eight days after the incident, according to the autopsy report.
