Fire officials say two people are recovering at an area hospital for smoke inhalation following a house fire late Monday night in Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, crews were called to a double bungalow home on the 100 block of Cecil Street SE shortly before 11 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a mattress on fire in a second-floor bedroom, as well as heavy smoke on the second floor.

After searching the home, the fire was put out. Crews say they were able to keep the fire to one residence, adding that home has been deemed uninhabitable.

No one else was reported injured.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
