Officials were at the scenes of three separate rollover crashes in the metro area early Tuesday.
Two of the rollovers happened in Minneapolis and the third happened in Coon Rapids.
One person died after a rollover crash in the area of Xerxes and Glenwood avenues, near Wirth Lake, in Minneapolis.
Minneapolis Police said officers responded to the crash at 5:33 a.m. and found a vehicle north of the intersection on its roof with a woman pinned underneath it. At that point, the woman — identified only as a Minneapolis resident in her mid-30s — was already dead, police said.
Preliminary information suggests the vehicle was headed east on Glenwood Avenue when it left the roadway and rolled, ejecting the driver. Police said evidence also indicates the vehicle may have been operating without a left, front tire before leaving the road.
The crash remains under investigation but speed and not wearing a seat belt are believed to be contributing factors, according to police.
