2 Minnesotans among 10 sick from E. coli outbreak linked to baby spinach
Two Minnesotans are among 10 people who were sickened from an E. coli outbreak.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), health officials believe the outbreak stemmed from Josie’s Organics baby spinach.
The CDC reports the spinach was sold at stores nationwide.
The Minnesota Deparment of Health reports the two cases in Minnesota happened in mid-October and both individuals were in their mid-20s.
The CDC reports, in addition to Minnesota, cases have been reported in Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri and South Dakota. Two people have been hospitalized.
Anyone who has the Josie’s Organics baby spinach product with a "best by" date on or around Oct. 23 should throw the product away, the CDC advises.
