17-year-old killed in St. Paul stabbing, brother in custody

A 17-year-old was killed early Tuesday morning during a stabbing in St. Paul, and his brother is in custody.

According to St. Paul Police, officers were called to the 2200 block of Lower Afton Road at about 3:15 a.m. on a report of two brothers fighting, one of whom had been cut with a knife.

When they arrived, officers found a 17-year-old boy unresponsive and suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said. Police rendered first aid and medics later pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police said the victim’s 24-year-old brother, Eric James Young, is in custody in connection to the fatal stabbing.

An investigation remains ongoing.

The victim’s identity is expected to be released by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office at a later time.
