15-year-old struck by vehicle in Inver Grove Heights dies

A 15-year-old who was struck by a vehicle while crossing a road Saturday in Inver Grove Heights has died, police said Monday.

According to Inver Grove Heights Police, officers were called to the 7500 block of Cahill Avenue at about 8:56 p.m. on a reported pedestrian-involved accident. When officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old boy.

The boy was transported to a hospital, and police said the driver of the vehicle involved cooperated with authorities and showed no signs of impairment.

However, the department said Monday morning that the boy had died as a result of his injuries.

The boy's identity will be released at a later time by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
