15-year-old in custody after stabbing 2 victims in Cottage Grove

Two people are injured after a 15-year-old stabbed them Sunday night, said the Cottage Grove Police Department.

According to police, around 11 p.m., officers responded to a stabbing in the 6600 block of Jeffery Court South. A caller was reporting that two people had been stabbed.

Police said a 39-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man were taken to Regions hospital and they are in stable conditions.

Police made a CodeRED community notification to the residences to stay indoors while searching for the 15-year-old suspect who left the scene on foot. The teenager was tracked down and taken into custody.
