15-year-old boy expected to live after being shot in leg in north Minneapolis

Police say a 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg Saturday afternoon in the Hawthorne neighborhood on the north side of Minneapolis.
According to Minneapolis police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington, the boy was shot around 4:30 p.m. while walking near North 29th and Dupont avenues. Shell casings were found a block away, at 29th and Colfax avenues.
The victim was taken to the hospital, and his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, Barrington said.
No suspect information was immediately available.
