10 charged with crimes after arrests by carjacking task force

Tuesday, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced charges against 10 people after they were arrested by authorities in part of a crackdown on carjackings in Minneapolis.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and Minneapolis Police said last week that a carjacking task force had arrested 41 people during a three-day crackdown. The attorney’s office said those arrests weren’t necessarily for carjackings but were felony-level arrests.

As of Tuesday, the attorney’s office said it has charged 10 of those people out of the 11 cases presented. The other case is being considered by the city attorney. Others initially detained may still be under investigation and haven’t yet had cases submitted to the attorney’s office.
