1-year-old girl hurt after shots fired at vehicle in St. Paul
A 1-year-old girl was hurt after someone fired shots at a vehicle in St. Paul, Monday.
St. Paul Police reported officers were called at about 4:15 p.m. to the intersection of White Bear Avenue and Conway Street on multiple reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, officers blocked off the area and found numerous bullet casings at the scene. Officers then learned the 1-year-old girl—who had a minor injury to her back—had arrived at Regions Hospital.
A police report filed in connection with the incident states doctors were unable to determine whether the girl was struck by a bullet or if glass from a window cut her.
Police spoke with the girl’s mother who said she, the girl, and another child were in a vehicle the woman’s boyfriend had been driving along Conway Street when a black sedan pulled to the side of the street and a person inside began shooting at them.
No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning, police stated.
