1 juvenile dead, another airlifted with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Corcoran

A juvenile died, another seriously injured, and a third treated for injuries in a motor vehicle crash on Sunday evening in Corcoran.

According to Corcoran Police Department, at 6:35 p.m., police, fire officials and EMS all reported to a single-vehicle motor crash with injuries involving three juveniles on Oakdale Drive near Jeffrey Lane.

Once officers arrived at the scene, the 17-year-old girl driving the pick-up truck was pronounced dead on the scene. The pick-up truck had two juvenile passengers — a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl — and North Memorial Air Care airlifted the 15-year-old to a hospital with serious injuries. The 14-year-old was treated and released at the scene.

According to police, The pick-up truck was eastbound on Oakdale Drive when it left the roadway via the right-hand shoulder and rolled over.

Family notification is still in progress, said police.

The cause and contributing factors of the crash are still under investigation and seatbelt usage by the occupants is unknown at this time.
