1 injured after car crashes into MSP Airport transformer

Airport officials say one person is recovering from minor injuries after crashing their vehicle into a utility box Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday near Terminal 2.
Officials say the driver was the only person inside the vehicle at the time.
Lights were seen flickering in a nearby parking ramp before the lights went completely out. According to officials, the damage to the box caused an outage in an area where rented vehicles are cleaned.
Airport operations weren’t affected by the crash.

According to officials, they suspect alcohol may have played a part in the crash. The driver was taken to an area hospital for blood testing.
