1 dead, 2 injured in Minneapolis triple shooting

Police say one man is dead and two others are injured following a shooting Thursday night in Minneapolis.

According to police, the shooting happened near the Cedar-Riverside Apartment Complex shortly before 11:30 p.m.

Officials say shots were fired from one vehicle toward another near South Fifth Street and 15th Avenue South.

When officers arrived, they found an injured man in the street, who later died at the scene.

Two others- a man and a woman – were found nearby with gunshot wounds, but are expected to be okay.

The people involved are believed to be known to each other.

According to police, the three people were sitting in a vehicle parked on the 500 block of 15th Avenue South when a separate vehicle pulled up and shot into their vehicle. The suspect vehicle then left.

Police say this is the third homicide of the year in Minneapolis.

Officials say they are looking to work with the Cedar-Riverside community due to the number of violent crimes happening in the area.
