1 dead, 1 injured in Douglas County crash
A man is dead after a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon west of Alexandria, according to a crash report.
Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a crash around 1:13 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 40 and County Road 8 in La Grand Township, the crash report stated. Initial reports indicated that a vehicle had rolled over and a person was trapped.
The sheriff’s office said a GMC Yukon headed west on County Road 8 had entered the intersection and pulled out in front of a Dodge pickup headed south on County Road 40. The vehicles collided and rolled into the ditch in the southwest corner of the intersection.
The driver of the pickup, Robert William Kirscht, 47, of Brandon, Minnesota, was pronounced dead at the scene, the crash report stated. The passenger of the Dodge, Jeanine Cheri Kirscht, 48, of Brandon, was treated at a hospital and has been released. The driver of the GMC was unharmed.
