1 dead, 1 injured after Minneapolis crash
A Monday morning crash in Minneapolis left one person dead and another injured.
Minneapolis police said officers responded to a crash near Hiawatha Avenue and East 26th Street at 9:49 a.m. There, they found two vehicles that had collided head-on.
The driver of one of the vehicles — a man in his 40s — was extricated. Officers also provided aid to the driver of the other vehicle, a man in his 70s.
Both drivers were taken to a hospital, but the man in his 40s later died, police said. He was later identified as 49-year-old Elbert Cornelle Robinson.
According to police, early information indicates Robinson was headed south on Hiawatha Avenue when his vehicle crossed over the median into northbound traffic and struck the other vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation.
