Facebook introduces new platform to help small businesses

The social media company Facebook has announced a new platform aimed at helping small businesses reach customers.

Tuesday, the social media giant introduced Facebook Shops.

The platform will allow small businesses to set up an online store that customers can access through Facebook and Instagram.

Users of the social media platform will be able to find Facebook shops on a business's Facebook page or Instagram profile.

Facebook Shops is free for businesses looking to use the platform.

"Right now, many small businesses are struggling, and with stores closing, more are looking to bring their business online. Our goal is to make shopping seamless and empower anyone from a small business owner to a global brand to use our apps to connect with customers," the company said.
