With spring on the way, DNR reminds anglers to remove ice houses before deadline

As spring nears, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is reminding anglers it’s about that time to remove ice houses from lakes.

Anglers have until March 2 to remove structures from the southern two-thirds of the state.

Structures can remain on lakes in the northern third of the state until March 16.

According to the DNR, if shelters are not removed by the deadline, the owners will be cited and the structures may be confiscated or destroyed.
