2 Backus residents arrested, drug charges pending
Two people have been arrested in Backus as a result of an investigation into the sale and use of controlled substances.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says that on Wednesday deputies conducted a search warrant at a residence.
Authorities say that drug paraphernalia and ammunition were found along with 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 21 “dosage units” of Clonazepam — which is used to treat seizures, anxiety and panic disorders.
According to a Saturday press release, 69-year-old Deb Maus and 32-year-old Jason Dailey, both from Backus, were arrested at the residence.
Formal charges for controlled substance possession are pending.
Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch says that many investigations begin with anonymous tips and encouraged citizens to contact Crime Stoppers of Minnesota here or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
