School bus overturns with 22 children onboard, no injuries
The Carver County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call just before 1:30 p.m. reporting that a school bus had overturned in Camden Township.
Authorities say that the bus loaded with 22 children was headed west on 74th Street when the driver lost sight of the edge of the road due to the weather conditions.
The driver’s-side tires caught the edge of the road, pulling the bus into the ditch and causing it to tip onto its side, according to a news release from the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
Carver County deputies, New Germany Fire Rescue and Ridgeview Ambulance responded to the scene to assist, and the Koch School Bus Service sent additional busses to the scene to safely transport the children home. Some children were picked up at the scene by their parents, the news release says.
The age of the children involved is unknown at this time.
No one was injured in the crash, and an investigation is underway by Carver County and the Minnesota State Patrol.
