Detroit Lakes man sentenced to 7 years in armed robbery case

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Minnesota announced Thursday that Levi Brandin Jerome was sentenced to seven years (84 months) in prison for the armed robbery of a convenience store in November 2020.

Authorities say the 34-year-old Detroit Lakes man pointed a rifle at a store clerk at a convenience store on the White Earth Indian Reservation, which is about a four-hour drive north of the Twin Cities.

Jerome stole approximately $2,250 in cash from the register.

In November 2021, Jerome pleaded guilty to one count of robbery.

The case was investigated as part of the FBI’s Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force, which works with local and federal partners to combat crimes in Indian Country.
