19-year-old man killed Saturday morning in Minneapolis
A man died in the hospital Saturday after being hospitalized for life-threatening gunshot wounds, the Minneapolis Police Department says.
Police say they responded to a ShotSpotter activation just after midnight on Saturday morning near North Lowry and Aldrich avenues.
Officers found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound behind a home on the 700 block of North 31st Avenue.
Medical aid was given until the man was taken to North Memorial Medical Center, where he later died from the injuries.
Forensic investigators gathered evidence at the scene for the investigation. No arrests have been made.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will identify the deceased at a later date.
This is the 43rd homicide in Minneapolis so far this year, Minneapolis police say.
