Wrong-way driver arrested for possible DUI after hitting pregnant woman’s car in Cottage Grove

A pregnant woman is being evaluated at the hospital after her car was hit head-on by someone driving the wrong direction Friday night, according to the Cottage Grove Police Department.
Police say they arrested a Nebraska man on suspicion of DUI around 8:45 p.m. Friday after he hit another car head-on while driving the wrong way on Keats Avenue North.
The woman driving the other vehicle was 34 weeks pregnant. Police say she suffered injuries that were not life threatening, but responders took her to the hospital to be evaluated.
The most recent update on her condition was posted just before 10:30 p.m. Friday.
“Please use this as a reminder to not drink and drive, and to spread the same message to those around you,” police said in a Facebook post.
