Woman hospitalized after first responder hits her with pickup truck in McLeod County

A woman is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries Saturday after an emergency vehicle hit her while responding to a crash near Silver Lake, Minnesota.

According to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report, the woman, identified as 28-year-old Rhiannon Phillipi, crashed on Highway 7 in McLeod County around 11 a.m. A first responder headed to the crash in a Chevrolet Silverado hit her at the scene.

Phillippi had been hurt prior to being hit by the Silverado and was taken to a Twin Cities hospital with life-threatening injuries, the crash report states.

The driver of the Silverado is listed as a Silver Lake firefighter on the city’s website.
