Woman dead after head-on crash in west-central Minnesota

Authorities say a North Dakota woman is dead after she crashed into a pickup truck Monday afternoon in Douglas County.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just after 2 p.m. on Country Road 41 between the city of Evansville and Interstate 94.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 72-year-old woman from Fargo was driving westbound on County Road 41 when she crossed the center line and crashed into an eastbound pickup truck on the other side of the road, the crash report states.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. The 38-year-old driver of the pickup and a passenger were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries and are expected to survive.

Names of the people involved are being withheld pending family notification.

The crash remains under investigation.
