Woman airlifted to hospital after single-vehicle crash in Dunn County

A woman was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Dunn County, Wisconsin Thursday morning.

According to the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called to U.S. Highway 12 at County Highway Q in Knapp at 11:54 a.m. on a report of a crash.

The sheriff’s office said the initial investigation indicates a 25-year-old woman was driving a 1993 Chevrolet truck north on Highway Q when she failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection, continued across Highway 12 and entered the ditch. The truck then struck a tree, entered a construction property and struck a pile of new guardrail sections.

The woman was extricated from the truck and then flown to a hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

The crash remains under investigation. Speed is believed to be a factor, according to the sheriff’s office.
