Woman, 2 kids killed in Maple Grove crash identified
The woman and two children who were killed in a single-vehicle crash in Maple Grove on Saturday have been identified.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as 2-year-old Joshua Vishnu Kendrick, 3-year-old Lily My’Joy Kendrick and 25-year-old Kiara Tashay Jones.

According to Maple Grove Fire and Rescue, police and fire officials responded to the area of Lawndale and Dunkirk lanes at about 7 a.m. after receiving the report of the crash. First responders found four people inside the compact sedan and started to administer medical aid.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene while the two children were taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Additionally, 23-year-old Colin Stanifer-Brown of Minneapolis was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive, Maple Grove police said.
The crash remains under investigation but police said speed may have been a factor.
