Witness’s death leads to dismissal of Minneapolis murder charge
The death of a key witness has led to the dismissal of murder charges against a Minneapolis man.
According to court documents, 20-year-old Mozell Jones was charged with second-degree murder in a shooting last August.
His trial was scheduled to start this week, but prosecutors had to dismiss the charges against him after one of their key witnesses died, court documents state. That witness wasn’t identified, and the documents didn’t say how the victim died.
