Wisconsin State Fair officially set for Aug. 5-15
The Wisconsin State Fair has officially been scheduled to take place this summer.
Officials said Wednesday that the fair will take place from Aug. 5-15, in accordance with health guidelines at that time. Therefore, decisions on capacity limits, mask requirements and social distancing will be made at a later time.
"In January, the Wisconsin State Fair Park Board approved a goal to have a fair this August and we are pleased to confirm we are well on our way to meeting that goal," Wisconsin State Fair Park Board Chairman John Yingling said.
Officials said enhanced sanitization protocols are already in place.
"We are happy to confirm there are WonderFair days ahead and are excited to safely gather to celebrate everything we are so proud of in Wisconsin," said Kathleen O’Leary, Wisconsin State Fair Park CEO. "We look forward to making many exciting announcements in the weeks to come!"
Fair officials said a survey released to fairgoers earlier this month showed 88% of respondents said they’d be comfortable attending a large event, such as the fair.
