Winter storm could produce near-record in month of October
The winter storm on Tuesday could produce a near-record in October for daily snowfall amounts across the cities, according to the National Weather Service Twin Cities.
The National Weather Service Twin Cities tweeted out a picture that showed all the statistics of maximum one-day total snowfall for Minneapolis, St. Paul, St. Cloud and Eau Clarie.

The record snowfall in October for the Minneapolis-St. Paul area was 8.2 inches, which was set on Oct. 31, 1991. Records for the St. Cloud and Eau Claire areas are both around 5 inches.
According to the NWS, the record for Oct. 20 was set in 1912, when the Twin Cities received three inches of snow.
