Man in surgery after being stabbed in Willernie

The Washington County Sherriff’s Office reports that a 36-year-old man is undergoing surgery following a stabbing in Willernie, a small community surrounded by Mahtomedi on all sides.

Deputies located a victim suffering from “multiple stab wounds” on the side of Stillwater Road at about 8:45 a.m. this morning.

First responders aided the victim until paramedics arrived and transported the man to the hospital.

Authorities say that the victim was able to name his attacker as a 19-year-old man he lived with.

Washington County deputies located and arrested the suspect shortly after 10 a.m. and booked him into jail while he awaits formal charges.
