Weekend events Sept. 30-Oct. 2

There are lots of fun events happening this weekend in the Twin Cities.

Here’s a round-up of some of the activities:

Friday:

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day at the Mall of America at this event hosted by Bailame Dance Festival and Minnesota Latinos. The event will take place from 4-8 p.m. and will include dance and Zumba lessons, cultural performances, local DJs, and live music. Find more information here.

View the University of Minnesota’s Homecoming Parade in the family viewing area, located at the Donhowe Building lot. A full parade route can be found here.

Raise money for the New Hope Crime Prevention Fund by signing up for a night golf tournament. The cost is $100 per twosome, which also includes nine holes of night golf, dinner and beverages, and a putting contest. Raffle tickets will also be available to purchase. Friday and Saturday:

Celebrate Oktoberfest at Under Pressure Brewing Company with OktobeerMeatFeast- a contest to see who can eat one meter of bratwurst. Both days of this celebration will also include food, live music, stein holding contests, spaetzli relay races, and more. Find more information here.

Catch the 2022 Chroma Zone Mural & Art Festival before it ends! Its final weekend will include over 11 new public murals, art-making, public demos, muralist meet-and-greets, bike and bus mural tours, artist talks and more. Find more information here.

Saturday:

New Inver Grove Heights Halloween attraction Nowhere Haunted House officially opens for the season Saturday. The attraction includes live actors, animatronics, and realistic sets that come to life. More information is available here.

Watch a free Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra concert streamed in Rice Park at 8 p.m. The concert will be live streamed from the Ordway Theater. Viewers can enjoy food trucks and an outdoor beer and wine service. More information is available here.

Saturday and Sunday:

Check out over 150 artisans at the 45th Annual Rivertown Fall Art Festival in Lowell Park in Stillwater. Hand-crafted items will be showcased in a variety of mediums. The Art Festival is part of Take Me to the River 2022, a program of ArtReach St. Croix. The festival will be from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday. Find more information here.

Sunday:

Attend an outdoor barbecue event at Allianz Field with award-winning Chef Justin Sutherland and Mpls.St.Paul Magazine’s Senior Food and Dining Editor Stephanie March. Tickets will include unlimited samples from local businesses. Purchase tickets here.

All weekend:

Celebrate fall with Tricks and Treats at Valley Fair. Guests of all ages can enjoy Halloween activities without the intense scares. Activities include four Halloween lands, a trick-or-treat trail, Halloween-themed games, crafts, live entertainment, and fall-inspired food and beverages. More information is available here.
