Wedge Table in Minneapolis to close July 12

The Wedge Table, a Twin Cities Eat Street hub for the surrounding community, will close its Minneapolis location off of Nicollet Avenue next month.

The business includes a bodega-style grocery store, cafe, community room and commissary kitchen. It’s part of the member-owned Twin Cities Co-op Partners (TTCP), which operates the Wedge and Linden Hills co-ops in Minneapolis and Co-op Partners Warehouse in St. Paul, according to its website.

"It is with heavy hearts that TCCP is announcing the permanent closure of the Nicollet facility. This includes The Wedge Table (market and café), commissary kitchen, bakehouse, and catering," the post on the TTCP website states, in part.

"We have greatly appreciated our employees and community since opening in 2015. Thank you for your continued support as we transition through this period."

The closure of the location is due to customer counts dropping during the pandemic, with sales decreasing "dramatically" at the Wedge Table. They plan to consolidate their resources and concentrate their efforts on its core operations that include the Wedge Co-op, the Linden Hills Co-op and the Co-op Partners Warehouse.

The Wedge Table will officially cease operations on July 12.

As for the bakery, commissary kitchen and catering operations, catering will no longer be offered to consumers. However, the bakery and commissary production will continue at the two retail locations.

According to its website, the building where the Wedge Table currently sits will be sold.
