“The Wall that Heals” will make another stop in a Minnesota community this week on its nationwide tour that has reached over 700 cities since 1996.
The traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica spent the past week in Eagan and will make its way to Winsted Tuesday.
“It gives family members and older folks (a chance) to come out and perhaps see a name of someone they knew on the wall, and younger folks to come out and maybe learn something about the war or about those who served,” said Callie Wright from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.
The exhibit at the Winstock Festival Grounds location will open at 2 p.m. Wednesday, and will close Sunday, July 31 at 2 p.m.
Viewing is free to the public 24 hours a day.
The 375-foot long, 7.5-foot tall replica is three-quarters of the size of the memorial in Washington, D.C. and includes the more than 58,000 names of those who died during the Vietnam war.
