Victims of Dunn County house fire identified

Three people who died in a house fire west of Eau Claire Friday night have been identified.
The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims Sunday as 76-year-old Merrill Tande, 49-year-old Christopher Rouse and a 6-year-old girl, all of rural Menomonie.

The sheriff’s office said authorities were called to the 6800 block of 270th Avenue in Spring Brook Township at about 10:01 p.m. Friday on a report of a fire.
Five people were inside the home when the fire started but two women were able to escape with only minor injuries, the sheriff’s office said. However, two men and a child died in the fire.
The investigation into the fire remains ongoing.
