Victim of Minneapolis gas station shooting identified

A 31-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a shooting that happened on Aug. 7.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Prince Shamir Hinton, of Plymouth. The medical examiner stated he died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The shooting happened on the 600 block of West Broadway Avenue, at the Winner Gas Station.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicated a verbal argument at the scene escalated and that at one point, a person at the scene pulled out a gun and fired. That suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

An investigation remains active.
