Victim of fatal Uptown shooting identified

The man who died after an argument escalated into a shooting in Uptown Minneapolis has been identified.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office says 30-year-old Rayshawn Earl James Brown, of St. Paul, died from multiple gunshot wounds late Saturday night. His death was ruled a homicide, the 26th of the year in Minneapolis, police say.

According to Minneapolis police, officers were called to the area of Lagoon Avenue and Hennepin Avenue South at around 11:55 p.m. Police found Brown suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said a “verbal altercation between several individuals” moved outside, and shots were fired.
