Victim killed in north Minneapolis shooting identified

The man killed in a shooting in north Minneapolis earlier this week has been identified.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday identified the victim of Monday’s shooting as 25-year-old Joshua-lee William Boyce, of Minneapolis.

Minneapolis police were called to the area of 17th and Emerson avenues at about 12:45 a.m. after a ShotSpotter activation in the area. There, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The city said officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a hospital in critical condition.

Boyce died later that night.

No arrests have been announced in connection to the shooting.
