Delfosse was an employee of the construction company Duininck. Chris Duininck, the company’s president released the following statement:
“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the recent news regarding a valued employee and friend. We mourn with the family as we face the reality of this tragedy together. Dave was a passionate leader who consistently looked for ways to improve himself and his co-workers. He was a leader in all areas of life and we grieve with his daughter, son and family. His passing creates a hole that will not be filled and we pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort all of us at this time.”
Delfosse had a "penetrating injury" to his chest and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead.
Evidence at the scene shows a bullet pierced through a garage wall and struck Delfosse. Police say there is no indication that Delfosse was an intended target and there is no immediate danger to the public.
