Victim identified in Wednesday’s fatal crash in Farmington
Authorities have identified the victim killed in a crash in Farmington on Wednesday.
According to a release from the Farmington police, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash with reported injuries on Pilot Knob Road and 206th Street West.
Initial investigation suggests a 2016 Ram 2500 truck was traveling south on Pilot Knob Road when it rear-ended a 2018 Ford Escape that was stopped in the left lane waiting to turn onto 206th Street West.
Mark J. Holton, 65, was the driver of the Ford Escape and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ram 2500 was identified as Jacob J. Askew, 29, who was examined by paramedics at the scene and declined further medical attention.
“Motor vehicle crashes are almost always preventable. This was a tragic result and our thoughts are with Mr. Holton’s family and friends during this difficult time,” said Chief of Police Gary Rutherford.
Farmington Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating this crash.
