Verizon fixes issue affecting CenturyLink landline calls in metro

Verizon says it is aware of a problem in the Twin Cities area where some CenturyLink landline customers are unable to complete outgoing calls to Verizon mobile customers.

Verizon says that its engineers are working on the problem and trying to fix it as soon as possible.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS reached out to CenturyLink and Verizon following multiple tips from viewers reporting this specific problem.

Verizon did not provide a timeline of how long it might take engineers to fix the issue.

CenturyLink said it is aware of the issue but its network is operating normally. The company encouraged customers with issues to call 800-788-3600 or report them online.
