A vehicle was pushed into a police squad car after running a stoplight and getting hit by a semi in Waite Park.
Police said an officer was stopped at a red light at Second Avenue South and Second Street South when a Subaru Outback drove through the intersection while the light was still red. As the Subaru went through the intersection, a semi struck it on the passenger’s side, spinning the Subaru around and into the police squad.
The driver of the Subaru and a 6-year-old inside suffered only minor injuries, according to police. They were treated at the scene.
Both the Subaru and the semi were towed from the scene. The squad car received only minor damage.
Police said the driver of the Subaru was cited.
