US attorney: Violent Crime Task Force seizes 94 guns in first month of operation

The Twin Cities Violent Crime Task Force has seized 94 illegal firearms and charged 15 suspects with federal firearms violations in its first 30 days of operation, according to a news release from the Minnesota U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The task force was formed on July 8, and additional federal and state law enforcement resources were brought in to help local agencies combat the surge in gun violence across the Twin Cities metro area.

According to the release, the task force will remain operational for another 30 days, after which point there will be another assessment on whether to keep the centralized command center in place.
