US Attorney: Brownsville man pleads guilty to making and selling explosive material

A Brownsville man has pleaded guilty to manufacturing and selling explosive material.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 58-year-old Kenneth Ray Miller entered a guilty plea on one count of manufacturing and dealing explosive materials Tuesday.

From 2013 to March 3, Miller manufactured and sold smoke generating devices containing electric igniters and a chlorate explosive mixture to customers across the country, according to the guilty plea and documents filed with the court.

Miller did not have a license, permit, exemption or other authorization from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to possess or use these devices.

A sentencing date for Miller has not yet been scheduled.
