UPDATE: Missing 12-year-old in Scandia found, safe

UPDATE: The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said a missing 12-year-old in Scandia was located on Tuesday night.
She reportedly walked off into the woods in her backyard and hadn’t returned within an hour.
The sheriff’s office said the girl was reported stuck in a marsh area by a local resident. She was then rescued and returned home safely after being evaluated.
The Minnesota Air Rescue Team (MART) is helping authorities search for a missing 12-year-old in Scandia.
MART tweeted that it activated a crew at the request of Washington County authorities.
The rescue team is a joint effort between the Minnesota State Patrol Aviation Division and the St. Paul Fire Department Advanced Technical Rescue Team.
No other details regarding the search were immediately available.
