UPDATE: Authorities find body matching description of missing man in lake in Douglas County
UPDATE: On Sunday at around 10 a.m. Douglas County Dive Rescue Team located a man underwater in Lake Carlos. The man, who was identified as 30-year-old Javier Miguel Castro of Alexandria, matched the description of the missing person.
Authorities are still trying to find a man who is suspected of drowning Friday in Douglas County.
According to a news release, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team responded to a possible drowning around 11:08 p.m. on the north end of Lake Carlos in Carlos, Minnesota.
An adult male fell off a pontoon boat and into the water, and witnesses told officers they could see splashing before losing sight of him.
First responders from Otter Tail and Pope counties provided mutual aid in the water search, and a chopper attempted an aerial search shortly after the call was received and again shortly after sunrise.
As of Saturday night, the victim has not been found.
The incident remains under investigation.
