UPDATE: 5 people hurt in shooting along Broadway Ave. in Minneapolis

Five people were hurt in a shooting outside a bar and restaurant in Minneapolis early Wednesday.

Officers responded to the 200 block of West Broadway Avenue after receiving a ShotSpotter notification in the area.

Officers arrived and found two adults who had suffered apparent gunshot wounds. The two were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Meanwhile, officers learned another three individuals who were hurt at the scene had arrived at HCMC.

A preliminary investigation revealed a verbal argument escalated into a shooting, police stated.

Police said the five adults—two women and three men—all suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

This investigation is underway, police said.

The incident happened overnight Tuesday into Wednesday in the area of West Broadway Avenue, near Interstate 94.

A KSTP crew at the scene reported seeing evidence markers outside of Broadway Pub & Grille.
