Ulta Beauty partners with Target for ‘shop-in-shop’ concept in 100 stores
Tuesday, Target Corporation announced a partnership with Ulta Beauty, Inc., to launch a "shop-in-shop" concept in 100 Target stores, starting next year.
The Minneapolis-based retailer stated the concept will launch at the start of 2021, with plans to "scale to hundreds more over time."
The roughly 1,000-square-foot in-store shops will be located next to Target’s existing beauty sections and will feature cosmetics, skin and hair care products, and fragrances, among other products.
Additionally, the partnership will include an online selection of Ulta Beauty products, starting in the second half of 2021, according to Target.
Those who shop Ulta Beauty at Target online will be able to select free shipping for qualifying orders and will have access to same-day fulfillment services, drive up, order pickup and Shipt same-day delivery at all participating stores.
Brian Cornell, Target’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement that through the partnership with Ulta Beauty, "we are able to expand our growing beauty business with new, exciting brands, an immersive experience, and loyalty benefits to transform how our guests shop for all their beauty needs."
Tuesday, shares of Target rose a little more than 1% while Ulta’s stock was up roughly 5%, according to the Associated Press.
