U of M to refund some students 50% of September meal plan amid food and staffing shortage
The University of Minnesota said that it will credit all students who are living in residence halls 50% of their monthly dining charge for the September.
The dining credit will only be applied to students living in residence halls with a meal plan.

The U of M stated that staffing shortages have impacted student dining experiences and that the credit reflects reduced service hours and menu options available from Sept. 3 through Sept. 30.
The university also stated that it will continue to evaluate its own performance each month this fall semester and will determine if any additional credits are necessary on a monthly basis.
The credit is expected to be automatically applied to student accounts during the first week of October.
Students whose accounts are paid in full will receive a credit via direct deposit or a check. If students have a balance due, the credit will be applied to that balance.
Anyone who has questions about the student dining program can submit their inquiries to dining@umn.edu.
